Chris Wright a climate change denier, now in charge of US energy
Like appointing RFK as Secretary of Health wasn't bad enough, Donny wanted to make sure his pick for Secretary of Energy was equally inappropriate and more than willing to deny the enormous scientific consenus of the existential threat of climate change to line a few pockets.
Wright, a man whose understanding of “renewable” starts and ends with repeating the same debunked talking points on Fox News, was appointed to lead the Department of Energy. Because Donny says so. Being qualified for the role counts against you in Donny's world.
While the rest of the world sprints toward solar panels, wind turbines, and functioning brains, Wright proudly clutches a fracking rig like it’s a security blanket and mutters something about “energy freedom”, which apparently means drilling until the atmosphere is 40% methane.
Wright’s company, Liberty Energy (not to be confused with actual liberty), has spent years perfecting the art of making climate warnings disappear faster than an ill tempered Elon Musk tweet. His policy motto appears to be: "If it burns, it earns."
Accomplishments: Setting Progress on Fire
- Renewables Nah. Wright once said wind and solar are “unreliable” — which is true, if by “unreliable” you mean they haven’t donated millions to your re-election PAC.
- Electric vehicles Only acceptable if they’re powered by gasoline.
- Energy efficiency What is this communist talk?.
- Climate change “A natural cycle,” 🙄 he insists, like the natural cycle of hurricanes leveling coastlines and wildfires turning California into Mordor.
When the icecaps melt Chris will still deny it. He's a monument to America’s ability to appoint the most wildly inappropriate person to any position of power.
